In testing: WatuOS Business Edition
Not released yet. This is what is being tested now, labelled as such rather than claimed.
- Thirteen applications on one box: WatuAccounts at the centre, with WatuHRM, WatuCRM, WatuPOS, WatuStock,
WatuProcure, WatuProjects, WatuMake, WatuService, WatuFleet, WatuTime, WatuNet and WatuVisitor.
- Each application works on its own. Connected to WatuAccounts, it sends its invoices, bills and journals to the books:
payroll from WatuHRM, won deals from WatuCRM, closed shifts from WatuPOS, stock movements from WatuStock, matched bills
from WatuProcure, project invoices from WatuProjects, and vehicle costs from WatuFleet. Nothing is typed twice, and a
change in the application reverses and replaces what it sent.
- One sample company for all of them. In WatuAccounts, Settings → Sample data loads the same business — its
staff, customers, items and vehicles — into every connected application, and one click removes it from all of them.
Every application is asked first; if one cannot take part, nothing is loaded anywhere, and the page says which one and why.
- While an application is connected, its own Sample data page hands over to WatuAccounts, so the books and the applications
never disagree. On its own, it keeps its own Sample data page.
WatuFleet 2.2
- WatuFleet is now for companies that run vehicles for a living — hauliers with trucks, trailers and tankers, bus companies,
and businesses with large car fleets — rather than a school's buses and vans.
- Fuel, trips, servicing, tyres and papers, and what each vehicle really costs; GPS trackers read through Traccar.
- Connected to WatuAccounts, every cost goes to the books as an expense or a supplier bill, tagged with the vehicle.
Linked to WatuStock, fuel from the depot tank, spare parts and tyres are issued from the stores.
- Standalone today, and one of the thirteen applications in the Business Edition.
WatuFleet, WatuKopesha and the Microfinance Edition
- WatuFleet 1.0: buses and vans — fuel with consumption between full tanks, servicing by distance or date,
insurance, road licence and inspection with expiry countdowns, trips, and every cost sent to WatuSchool against its account code.
A standalone application for now.
- WatuKopesha joins the WatuFlex family: core banking for microfinance institutions, SACCOs and VICOBA.
Details and plans at watukopesha.com.
- WatuOS Microfinance Edition is planned: WatuKopesha on a machine in the branch, like every other edition.
- Watu Cloud 1.7.1 licenses WatuFleet and WatuKopesha on a box with one tick.
Accounts, and a free 30-day trial
- Anyone can now try any WatuFlex solution free for 30 days on WatuOS — register, choose the applications,
and we set it up. No payment, nothing charged at the end.
- watuflex.com has accounts. The Repository shows every document and calculator to everyone as a preview;
a free account opens a sample from each pack; WatuFlex clients with an activated WatuOS box open all of it,
with the Word files and an offline mirror for sites with no internet.
- Clients are recognised automatically: the e-mail on your client record in Watu Cloud is the one to register with.
- WatuOS images are downloaded from your account, by clients and by organisations on a trial.
- Watu Cloud 1.7 answers the website's one question — is this address a client with an activated box? —
and gains a one-press 30-day trial licence.
WatuOS HR Edition 2.6.1
- WatuHRM 3.3 with 39 industry sample-data packs.
- Backup passphrase chosen by the client's own administrator:
watu-cloud passphrase --set.
An off-site copy now opens on any machine with the passphrase, even if the box is lost.
- WatuOS updates delivered from Watu Cloud, verified against the signing key in the image,
and rolled back if the console does not come back.
- Linux distro security updates install automatically; nothing else changes without you.
- The box reports CPU, memory and storage to Watu Cloud, so support can see trouble coming.
WatuHRM 3.3
- Sample data for 39 employers in nine sectors, with a search box — including a church, a diocese,
a mosque trust, an NGO, a council, a bank, a mine, a security company and a generic organisation.
- Each pack's asset register, stock, training courses, KPIs and competencies now belong to that
industry, where earlier packs showed placeholder words.
- Every pack was loaded into a real database and removed again without leaving a trace.
Watu Cloud 1.6
- Clients: one company, several boxes, with TIN, contact and sales representative kept once.
- Roles: owner, administrator, sales representative, support engineer and finance — each seeing
and changing only what their job needs, enforced on the server.
- Billing report with CSV; storage quotas per client; blocking for non-payment that never stops a client's applications.
- New staff must choose their own password; two-step sign-in can be made compulsory; repeated wrong
passwords from one address are blocked.
- A daily email to each sales representative about their own clients' renewals and quiet boxes.
- A manual, FAQ and knowledge base inside the console, written for each role.
The Repository
- Seven new packs beside the HR pack: WatuSchool, Business, SMS and messaging, WatuTime, WatuVisitor,
NGO programmes, and churches, dioceses and faith organisations.
- 73 documents you can read, print or download as Word, with the blanks highlighted.
- Working calculators: PAYE, employer contributions, gross-to-net, notice, severance, overtime, leave accrual
and SMS length and cost.
WatuCRM 1.3
- Connects to Watu Cloud with a personal key: enrolment tokens from a company page, each client's
boxes and licence dates in the CRM, and renewals as tasks and one-press renewal deals.
- A reminder to set up the box when a deal is won.
